Dr. Ntsapo Deppa’s employment history started as a contract chemistry lecturer at the Vaal University of Technology, a position she assumed just after completing her studies. Prior to joining uMngeni-uThukela Water as the Laboratory Manager in 2016, Ntsapo was employed by Tongaat Hulett for 9 years, initially as a chemist and later promoted to an analytical manager.

She is currently the Executive: Scientific Services for uMngeni-uThukela Water. Her roles include providing strategic leadership in:

• Ensuring compliance to water and wastewater quality standards and regulations, which includes appropriate planning, sampling, monitoring, analysis, auditing, and treatment process rectification functions throughout the water management cycle.
• The organization’s environmental sustainability initiatives include the development and implementation of appropriate sustainability plans and ensuring that all the organization’s operations function in accordance with its environmental values.
• Research and innovation programs of the organization, in line with the organization’s strategic direction.

Dr Deppa holds a PhD Degree in Chemistry from the University of Cape Town with research focus in medicinal, physical, and analytical chemistry. She also attained an MBA degree (cum laude) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2017.
